First-Ever HTML5 Cloud Desktop – A Personal Computer in the Cloud

Mikogo Launches First-Ever HTML5 Cloud Desktop – A Personal Computer in the Cloud

London, United Kingdom (PRWEB) January 24, 2013

Mikogo, the global provider of online collaboration solutions, has today launched the world’s first Cloud Desktop – an innovative way of hosting an entire computer system in the Cloud. The revolutionary browser-based system, built on HTML5, makes it possible for users to access their very own computer system, from any computer, smartphone or tablet directly from within a web browser without any software downloads or plug-in installations.

Outsourcing work to contractors, remote working and “Bring Your Own Device” (BYOD) scenarios are on the rise and the Mikogo Cloud Desktop will facilitate these work arrangements. Companies can rent Cloud Desktops and provide their remote contractors with all the necessary software applications without distributing a single piece of hardware.

Once the user has logged into their Cloud Desktop they can access their very own operating system, software applications and files directly from within the browser. With the entire computer system being accessible from any location, the Mikogo Cloud Desktop eliminates the need for setting up remote access systems as well as syncing and pairing multiple devices. They can then log in from any other computer or device and access the very same computer system.

“More and more applications are moving into the Cloud and this trend gives companies the freedom of shifting their processes into the Cloud and accessing services from anywhere,” explains Marcel Maron, Mikogo’s IT Operations Manager and pioneer behind the Cloud Desktop. “The advantages of Cloud services are accessibility and reliability because the services are managed by professional service providers, not the end-user. Operating systems, however, are presently still managed by the end-user leaving them to deal with constant updates, maintenance, performance issues, etc.”

“We’ve had these frustrations ourselves, so we developed the Mikogo Cloud Desktop, to give users the easiest way to access their very own computer system sitting in the Cloud, which is completely managed by our IT professionals. This builds considerable value as it creates a warranty for company IT departments regarding performance, while saving time and money. You can give your workers access to core applications, such as CRM, project management systems, etc., and then they just log in and get to work on their own Cloud computer.”

Users are able to select between different Windows operating systems for their Cloud Desktop, including Windows 8. When they wish to open their Cloud Desktop, an end-user can use any computer or tablet, open a browser, and login. This means an end-user can open their Windows 8 Cloud Desktop on a Windows XP computer, a Mac Notebook, an iPad, or any other device.

The Cloud Desktop service is available now from the Mikogo website: http://www.mikogo.com/cloud-desktop

Cloud backups services are the reliable means to restore data on internet. For instance, if a photographer wants to store clicked pictures somewhere else to protect against computer crash, then he/she can create online backup for accomplishing this aim.

[caption id="attachment_962" align="aligncenter" width="450"]www.TheCloudComputingAustralia.com-160 - Potential benefits and limitations of cloud computing service[/caption]

What is cloud service? What are the potential benefits of this advanced technology?

Cloud computing service supports the users to create backup of integral data which is needed to be kept secure. Most of the individuals and organizations utilize these services to protect their essential information that is required for long sustainability of business. There are endless benefits of adopting this technology approach.

The cloud computing service given to various organizations are highly reliable and dependable. There is a heavy bunch of services offered under cloud deployment that includes disk based backup, encryption and application specific protection. It supports the protection of vital information kept at the server. The biggest advantage why many people prefer cloud computing is its affordability.

Many times backup servers charge monthly rates. In this way, services are easily afforded by the clients. When you are looking for reliable cloud services ensure you try to get best backup management and security. After all, this is the major reason for you to invest heavily in this service. Seeding is the initial backup solution given by the cloud service providers.

For instance, if a particular organization needs to store 100 gigabytes of data for proper database management for maintaining professional records, then it would possibly take months for seeding the important information through internet. Hence, it is essential for large business companies to take assistance of right backup service provider. Another biggest hit why individuals and companies choose to have these exceptional services is large restoration against computer crash. Many organizations restore important data in DVDs, hence it reduce long period of times needed for downloading the files.

Limitations of the clod computing solutions

With the bundle of benefits, there are certain limitations of this service.

Firstly, the need of high internet bandwidth turns to be the biggest pitfall. Secondly, data is managed by third party server that means it is managed by external source which can be risky if it goes out of business. This can become a major point of concern. Thirdly, the payment packages depend on different service providers depending upon their services. Some of them take monthly charges whereas others charge on the concept of pay-per-service. Fourthly, the service providers offer two different kinds of cloud services namely, professional and home cloud solutions.

Cloud Computing has been a major decision for business that were faced with the urge to restructure their IT departments and budgets to align their processes with the ongoing economic conditions and uncertain business environment. Even though businesses face certain glitches with the cloud they have started to come to terms with it and more businesses are looking forward to migrate their operations into the cloud for better business agility. With the companies moving to the cloud now even governments of many countries have started to consider cloud as a way to turn around their economy by reducing overall IT budgets and provide the much needed boost to their economies.

From having a good understanding the focus in cloud computing has now shifted to what it can do for businesses and in what ways it can deliver benefits in the long term. Even though only a little amount of companies have made the move to the cloud there are many that are considering the switch and are in phase of getting on board quite soon. And companies that are not currently in the mood to switch to cloud computing as a viable option are also not denying the possibilities of considering it in the near future.

With more businesses and users contemplating the shift to the cloud many ICT providers are also chalking out strategies to cater to the billion dollar cloud computing market. With big companies joining hands to provide cloud based services it can be said that Cloud Computing is going to gain more and more attraction from businesses and service providers alike.

Different Paths of Cloud Application Integration

Different Paths of Cloud Application Integration

Author:tapas

Enterprises are rapidly moving their vital business applications into the cloud using the SaaS providers such as NetSuite, Salesforce and SucessFactors. This further poses a great challenge in meeting the emerging business demands for application integration, data synchronization and process automation between the applications in the cloud and various internal IT applications. However, one of the distinguishing characteristics of cloud software is the number of ways it can be integrated. Although, there are numerous methods through which it can be integrated, but the below mentioned categories will help you in understanding the integration products and tools that are available for cloud as well as other web service integration.

[caption id="attachment_952" align="aligncenter" width="450"]www.TheCloudComputingAustralia.com-155-Different Paths of Cloud Application Integration Different Paths of Cloud Application Integration[/caption]

The first category that involves cloud application integration is the case when there is no product at all. This requires using the cloud application's own platform as the mechanism for integration, which indicates using the native programming language that is available at the cloud vendor's business database layer in order to call out directly to another cloud. This is considered to be quite a simple idea, but can be quite tough to pull off. Following this procedure would help you to snippets of integration code at both the ends of cloud conversation.

The next category of integration products is the point to point connector. This is usually available in two different forms, which is the on-premises version for use on your own servers and integration services that reside in cloud. However, while evaluation connectors, it is also important to ensure that you evaluate their support and documentation as there is a truly horrific variability of this across the vendors. Moreover, if you are trying to use connectors in order to link a third or fourth cloud, is unlikely to work well and especially if two connectors require access over the same business project.

Salesforce migration offers a remarkable data integration solution for those organizations that are dealing with large volumes of data and hence provides a flawless data integration while minimizing the time that is consumed. As a SaaS integration model, Salesforce integration offers data synchronization between various storage sources as well as business applications. Moreover, it is also capable in delivering robust data integration services to various non-technical users over the web that uses a SaaS model. However, with the assistance of effective salesforce data integration, it becomes quite easy to synchronize accounts and contacts in a less span of time.

Is Cloud Computing Different From Virtualization Solutions?

Is Cloud Computing Different From Virtualization Solutions?

Author:Vipin Chauhan

Cloud computing and virtualization technologies impact almost everyone in the industry of today's IT business environment. Many of us have the confusion between cloud computing and virtualization solutions, the technologies which are used from decades in most of the organizations and some of us thinks by using virtualization solutions they automatically use cloud computing. But I think here we need to clarify one thing that both the technologies are very different from each other and offer different approaches to managing an organization's database infrastructure and also reduce the cost of computing resources.

[caption id="attachment_943" align="aligncenter" width="450"]www.TheCloudComputingAustralia.com-153-Is Cloud Computing Different From Virtualization Solutions? Is Cloud Computing Different From Virtualization Solutions?[/caption]

The confusion also arises here because both these technologies are developed to maximize the use of computing resources and increase the efficiency by reducing the cost of the ownership. Sometimes cloud computing and virtualization solutions, these two words are used interchangeably but they are truly very different approaches to solving the same problem of maximizing the available resources. Now let's discuss both the technologies separately to clarify the difference between them.

Cloud computing in simpler terms we can say that it is a third party service which was born from the concept of Utility Computing. It is the delivery of computing services rather than the product and lets an organization runs multiple applications without purchasing more hardware. Cloud computing is access through the internet to business applications running in a local environment, it shares the resources, software and information provided to the computer over a network i.e. the internet.

On the other hand, Virtualization solutions are those solutions which allow an organization to run multiple servers (virtual server) on the same hardware. It is a technique that allows enterprise to use a single piece of hardware to perform the work of various servers. In virtualization solution one server controls access to the physical server's computing resources. We can say that it is simply a presentation for the delivery of IT in a powerful way in an organization. The major difference between cloud computing and virtualization is not so difficult to understand as it is very clear that cloud computing can be better described as a service whereas virtualization is a part of physical infrastructure. It is a fact that both the technologies may look like same because cloud computing may appear that your application is running on virtual servers separate from any other host.

In order to select one from these technologies we first need to know what is the business problem of our customer and for what they want to use these technologies. Only then we can decide which is better or sufficient for the organization. In addition both the technologies save money and time up to some extent but each of them accomplish in different ways.At last we can say that both the technologies are very different from each other and offers various benefits in an organization.
